iPads can stop charging for various reasons — from simple cable issues to battery failures. This applies to all iPad models: Pro, Air, Mini, and standard iPad.
Cable & Adapter Check1. Use an Apple-certified cable (MFi or USB-C) — knockoff cables often fail 2. Try a different wall adapter (minimum 18W for fast charging) 3. Don't charge from a laptop USB port — it provides only 5W, too slow for iPads 4. Check cable ends for bent pins or corrosion
Port CleaningiPads accumulate lint in the charging port, especially if carried in bags. Use a wooden toothpick under good lighting to gently remove debris. For Lightning ports, be extra careful — the centre pin is fragile.
Software ResetForce restart: Quick-press Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold Power until Apple logo. This fixes software glitches that prevent charging detection.
