How to Fix Phone Not Charging — Complete Troubleshooting Guide
When your phone stops charging, don't panic. In 70% of cases, the fix is simple. Follow this systematic approach to identify whether it's a cable issue, port problem, battery failure, or software glitch.
Step 1 — Check Your Cable and Adapter
Try a different cable and wall adapter. Frayed cables are the #1 cause of charging issues. Use the original charger or a certified fast-charging adapter that matches your phone's protocol (QC 3.0, PD, VOOC, etc.).
Step 2 — Clean the Charging Port
Lint and dust accumulate in the USB-C or Lightning port over time. Use a wooden toothpick or compressed air to gently remove debris. Never use metal objects — they can damage the pins.
Step 3 — Software Reset
Force restart your phone (hold Power + Volume Down for 10 seconds). Sometimes a software glitch prevents charging detection. Also check if Safe Mode charges normally — a rogue app could be the culprit.
Step 4 — Charging Port or Battery Replacement
If none of the above works, the charging port PCB or battery needs replacement. At Xigox, charging port repairs start at ₹499 with a 90-day warranty. Battery replacement starts at ₹599.
