How to Fix Phone Touch Screen Not Responding

Touch issues range from completely unresponsive screens to ghost touches (phantom taps) and dead zones where only part of the screen works. Each has different causes and solutions.

Ghost Touch Fixes

Ghost touch (screen tapping by itself) is usually caused by a faulty digitizer, screen protector air bubbles, or moisture under the screen. Remove your screen protector first. If ghost touch continues, the display assembly needs replacement.

Dead Zone Diagnosis

Download a touch test app (like "Touch Screen Test") to map which areas don't respond. Dead zones typically indicate a cracked digitizer layer even if the screen looks fine visually. Internal hairline cracks are invisible but break touch functionality.

Software Troubleshooting
