They replaced the stock cooler with a much quieter and more efficient aftermarket unit, applied premium thermal compound, cleaned all dust from the case and components, replaced the CMOS battery which was also dead, and updated the BIOS to the latest stable version. The computer now runs whisper-quiet even under full load and is noticeably faster since the CPU is no longer throttling.
