How it's done
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
When this needs a genuine repair rather than a reset, we first confirm the fault is hardware (not a driver or settings issue) by testing the touchpad in BIOS/firmware, where OS-level drivers play no role — then open the palm rest, disconnect the touchpad's ribbon cable, and fit a replacement unit matched to your exact chassis.
