A laptop screen replacement is a precise job, not a size match. The panel has to fit the lid, plug into the right connector, run at the right resolution and refresh rate and light up evenly. Xigox identifies the panel by the code printed on its back, not by the inch size, so a 15.6-inch panel for a gaming laptop does not end up in an office laptop and the other way round.
Screen replacement is one of the jobs we do at your door: a technician reaches you within 2 hours of booking, confirms the panel type, fits it, tests it and leaves the laptop working. If the lid or hinge is damaged as well, that part goes to our Virar West workshop. Screens start from ₹3,499, and you see the exact price in writing after the ₹350 inspection, which is credited to the repair.
Is it the screen?
Display faults and what they mean
Not every display problem is a broken panel. Reading the symptom correctly avoids paying for a screen you do not need.
A crack, with or without a dark patch
Always a panel replacement. A crack spreads, and the dark area is liquid crystal that has leaked out. Taping over it keeps glass slivers off the keyboard until we arrive.
Vertical or horizontal coloured lines
Either the panel has failed or its cable is loose. If the lines move when the lid is flexed, the cable or the hinge is involved, and the repair may not need a new panel.
Black screen but the laptop is running
We connect an external monitor. A picture there means the graphics are fine and the fault is the panel, its cable or its backlight.
Very dim picture that is visible under a torch
The backlight has failed, not the panel. Depending on the model this is a backlight repair or a panel replacement.
Flickering or screen that blinks when the lid moves
A worn display cable or a damaged hinge pulling on it. Fixing the cable is cheaper than replacing the panel, so we test it first.
White patches, bleeding corners or pressure marks
Damage from pressure, often a laptop carried in a tight bag. These do not fade and the panel needs replacing.
Touch not responding, or ghost touches
On touchscreen models the digitizer is part of the panel assembly. We confirm that before quoting.
Dead or stuck pixels
One or two may be tolerable. A cluster or a growing patch is a reason to replace.

Panel part code
Printed on a label on the back of the panel. It tells us the maker, size, resolution and connector in one string.
Connector and signal
The cable plug has a fixed number of pins, commonly 30 or 40, and carries either eDP or the older LVDS signal. A mismatch will not light up.
Resolution and refresh rate
HD, Full HD and QHD panels, and 60, 120 or 144 Hz gaming panels, are not interchangeable even at the same size.
Mounting and thickness
Side brackets or top and bottom tabs, and the panel thickness, decide whether the lid closes cleanly.
Panel type
TN, IPS or OLED, with or without touch. We keep the type you had unless you ask for an upgrade.

We open the bezel, read the panel code and connector and confirm the part before it is fitted.

Fit and secure
The old panel is removed without stressing the hinge, the new one is seated, the cable is routed away from the hinge and the bezel goes back.

Brightness uniformity, colour, dead pixels, touch if fitted, and a flex test of the lid so a flicker does not return.

Hinges and lids
Why a broken screen is sometimes a hinge problem
A laptop lid is levered open and shut thousands of times. When a hinge loosens or its plastic mount cracks, the lid twists and the display cable and the panel take the strain. Replace the panel without fixing the hinge and the new screen can crack in weeks. That is why we check the hinge and the lid whenever a panel is replaced, and tell you if body repair is needed alongside it.
In a city where laptops travel in crowded trains and tight bags, pressure on the closed lid is as common a cause of cracks as a drop. A padded sleeve, a bag with a rigid back and never stacking things on the laptop make a bigger difference than people expect.

What to do with a cracked screen
- Stop using it if the crack is spreading or there are loose shards. Do not press on the glass.
- Cover a crack with clear tape so slivers do not drop onto the keyboard.
- Save your work and shut down normally. If the screen is black, a short press of the power button and a wait is safer than holding it down.
- Do not close the lid on a cracked panel with anything on the keyboard.
- Keep the charger with the laptop. We test the display on mains power.
