How it's done
How We Perform Laptop Motherboard Repair
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
For a repair job on this component, we isolate the fault to a specific power stage or IC first (rather than assuming a full board swap is needed), repair or reflow/replace only the failed component using hot-air rework stations, and run full POST and stress tests before considering the job done.
Typical time: 2–24 hours depending on fault complexity
2 What This Requires
- A full diagnostic pass (power rails, shorts, visible damage) before any repair quote is given — motherboard faults are rarely a single obvious cause.
- IC-level soldering equipment (hot-air rework station, microscope) for component-level repairs, not just a board-swap approach.
- A burn-in/stress test after repair, since a board can boot successfully and still fail under sustained load.
3 When You Need This
- The laptop or PC shows no signs of life at all — no lights, no fans, no POST beep — after ruling out the charger/power supply itself.
- Random shutdowns, freezes, or black screens that happen regardless of what software is running.
- A visible burn mark, swollen capacitor, or liquid-damage residue on the board.
