Yes — ₹350 for the inspection in Grant Road. Our technician diagnoses your laptop and gives you a clear written estimate; if you go ahead with the repair, that ₹350 is adjusted against the total cost, so the inspection itself doesn't add to the bill. Yes — out-of-warranty laptops are most of what we handle in Grant Road. Once the manufacturer warranty lapses, authorised centres often quote near-replacement prices for a single component. You pay nothing beyond the ₹350 inspection. If we cannot resolve the fault, we explain exactly what we found, return your laptop in the condition we received it, and — where the economics do not justify a repair — tell you so plainly rather than selling you work that is not worth doing. We also serve Opera House, Nana Chowk, Cumballa Hill, so you can recommend us to neighbours too.
For software faults, setup, upgrades and diagnostics we can work on-site anywhere in Grant Road. Component-level work — board repair, screen bonding, liquid-damage recovery — needs workshop equipment, so we collect the laptop, repair it, and return it. Both options are free of travel charges. How it's done
How We Perform Laptop Hardware Upgrade
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
For an upgrade rather than a repair, we start with a short consultation about what you actually use your laptop for, recommend the specific combination of RAM, storage, or other upgrades that will genuinely move the needle for that use case (rather than upselling parts that won't help), and benchmark before and after so you can see the real difference.
Typical time: 45–90 minutes depending on scope
2 What This Requires
- A quick conversation about your actual use case, since the "right" upgrade for gaming is different from the right one for office work or video editing.
- Confirmation of what your exact model supports — not every laptop/PC can take more RAM or a second drive.
- Before/after benchmarks so the upgrade's real-world impact is visible, not just assumed.
3 When You Need This
- The device feels slow for what you now use it for, even though nothing is actually broken.
- You're planning to use heavier software (editing, gaming, virtual machines) than when it was first bought.
- You want to extend the useful life of a device that's otherwise in good condition rather than replacing it outright.
The model
About the MacBook Pro
The MacBook Pro is Apple's performance-oriented laptop, aimed at creative professionals, developers, and power users who need sustained CPU/GPU performance — active cooling, higher-refresh ProMotion displays on 14"/16" models, and more I/O than the Air.
Key features
- Active fan cooling allows sustained high performance under video export, 3D rendering, and compilation workloads.
- Soldered RAM/storage on Apple Silicon models — same upgrade limitation as the Air, more pronounced given the higher price point.
- Liquid Retina XDR display on 14"/16" models — genuinely class-leading color accuracy and brightness for creative work.
- Multiple Thunderbolt/USB-C ports plus, on larger models, HDMI and an SD card slot.
