Yes — ₹350 for the inspection in Umroli. Our technician diagnoses your laptop and gives you a clear written estimate; if you go ahead with the repair, that ₹350 is adjusted against the total cost, so the inspection itself doesn't add to the bill. Yes — out-of-warranty laptops are most of what we handle in Umroli. Once the manufacturer warranty lapses, authorised centres often quote near-replacement prices for a single component. You pay nothing beyond the ₹350 inspection. We send live updates over WhatsApp at each stage: collection, diagnosis, quote approval, repair completion, and dispatch. How it's done
How We Perform Laptop Keyboard Not Working
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
For this specific fault, our technicians remove the top case or keyboard bezel, disconnect the keyboard's ribbon cable from the motherboard, fit a replacement keyboard built for your exact model (not a generic lookalike), and test every single key before closing the chassis.
Typical time: 30–45 minutes
2 What This Requires
- Confirmation that liquid, if any was spilled, has been fully cleaned from the surrounding area — fitting a new keyboard over residue just causes the same fault again.
- The correct screw set for your chassis, since keyboard retention varies by model (clips vs. screws vs. both).
3 When You Need This
- The keyboard works but the backlight does not, or only part of it lights up.
- Typing produces the wrong characters consistently — a sign of a damaged key matrix, not a software issue.
