A custom gaming PC that won't boot usually has a single failed or loose component. Work through it methodically before assuming the worst.
Step by Step- Power — confirm the PSU switch is on and the 24-pin and CPU (EPS) power cables are firmly seated.
- RAM — reseat the sticks; test one at a time in the recommended slot. Loose/faulty RAM is the #1 no-boot cause.
- GPU — reseat the card and its PCIe power connectors; plug the monitor into the card.
- Debug LEDs / beep codes — most gaming boards show a CPU/DRAM/VGA/BOOT light or beep pattern that names the failing part.
- A failed or underpowered PSU after a GPU upgrade.
- An unstable overclock or bad XMP profile — clear CMOS to reset BIOS.
- Front-panel power header knocked loose during a build.
If reseating power, RAM and the GPU doesn't help, a technician can bench-test each component (PSU, board, CPU, GPU, RAM) to isolate the fault quickly — usually a cheap PSU, RAM, or reseating fix rather than a full rebuild. Note any debug-LED colour before you bring it in.
