A wireless printer lets you print from any laptop or phone on your network. Setup is straightforward once you follow the steps in order.
Step by Step- 1. Connect the printer to Wi-Fi — on the printer's touchscreen: Settings → Network → Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, pick your network and enter the password. Or use WPS (press WPS on the printer and router).
- 2. Install the app/driver — HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson iPrint, or Brother iPrint&Scan on your device.
- 3. Add the printer — Windows: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers → Add. Mac: Printers & Scanners → Add.
- 4. Print a test page.
- Most printers only use the 2.4GHz band, not 5GHz — connect to the right one.
- Make sure the printer and device are on the same network (not a guest network).
- Restart the printer, router and device; move the printer closer during setup.
Assigning the printer a static IP (or DHCP reservation) prevents the common "printer offline" problem later. If it still won't connect, a technician can set up the network printer and install it across all your devices — often on-site the same day.
