How to Fix All-in-One PC Touchscreen Not Working
Touch-enabled AIOs from HP, Lenovo, Dell and ASUS are becoming standard. When touch stops working, here's the systematic fix approach.
Software Fixes (Windows)
1. Device Manager → Human Interface Devices → "HID-compliant touch screen" — right-click → Enable (if disabled) → right-click → Update driver 2. Check if touch works in BIOS/UEFI — if yes, it's a Windows issue 3. Run Windows Troubleshooter → Hardware and Devices 4. Recalibrate: Control Panel → Tablet PC Settings → Calibrate 5. Check for Windows updates that affect touch drivers
Hardware Causes
• Digitizer flex cable loose (common after AIO is moved) • Touchscreen controller board failure • Cracked digitizer layer (invisible crack) • Static electricity buildup (unplug for 5 minutes, hold power without plugging)
Brand-Specific Notes
HP Envy AIO: Touch driver updates often needed after Windows Update. Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO: Check Lenovo Vantage for driver updates. Dell Inspiron AIO: Dell SupportAssist has touch diagnostics built in.
Professional Repair
Touchscreen digitizer replacement on AIOs: ₹3,999–₹8,999. This requires careful disassembly of the display panel. At Xigox, we handle all AIO brands.
