How it's done
How We Perform Printer Head Cleaning
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
When dust and debris are the actual cause, we run the printer's built-in nozzle check pattern first to map exactly which nozzles are clogged, then run targeted cleaning cycles (escalating to a manual solvent soak for stubborn, long-dried clogs) rather than repeatedly running a generic auto-clean that wastes ink without fixing a hard clog.
Typical time: 20–40 minutes
2 What This Requires
- Patience with multi-stage cleaning — a badly clogged head sometimes needs more than one cleaning cycle over a short period rather than one aggressive pass.
3 When You Need This
- A cartridge/ink change didn't fix a quality issue you assumed was ink-related — pointing to the print head itself rather than the cartridge.
The model
About the HP LaserJet Pro M1136
The HP LaserJet Pro M1136 is part of HP's LaserJet Pro line — small-business-oriented laser printers, often with networking and higher-volume paper handling than entry LaserJet models.
Key features
- Built-in networking (Ethernet/WiFi) standard on most Pro models for shared office use.
- Higher-capacity paper trays than entry LaserJet models, suited to small-office volume.
- Toner-based printing — the same low-per-page-cost advantage as the base LaserJet line.
