Materials & Fabrication Methods We Use

Professional-grade techniques for every laptop body type — plastic, metal, or composite.

Plastic Welding

For ABS/polycarbonate laptop bodies. We use heat welding, solvent bonding, and fibre reinforcement to repair cracked plastic casings. The weld point is sanded and finished to near-OEM appearance.

ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylon

Metal Reinforcement

Aluminium and magnesium alloy chassis repair. We use cold welding, JB Weld epoxy, and metal bracket reinforcement for bent or cracked metal bodies.

Aluminium, Magnesium Alloy

Hinge Bracket Rebuilding

Broken hinge mounting points are rebuilt using metal inserts, epoxy resin, and screw thread restoration. This prevents future hinge failures.

Brass Inserts, Metal Plates

Custom Panel Fabrication

When OEM replacement panels are unavailable, we fabricate custom bottom covers, back panels, and palmrest sections using precision cutting and moulding.

ABS Sheet, Acrylic, Carbon Fibre

Surface Finishing

After repair, damaged surfaces are sanded, filled, painted, and clear-coated to match the original colour and texture of your laptop body.

Automotive-grade Paint, Clear Coat

Structural Reinforcement

For repeatedly damaged areas, we add internal metal plates, carbon fibre patches, or additional screw points to prevent future breakage.

Laptop Body & Casing Repair Specialist in Poisar

A damaged laptop body is more than a cosmetic issue — it compromises your laptop's structural integrity, exposes internal components to dust and debris, and can lead to screen hinge failure over time. Xigox provides professional laptop body repair, casing replacement, and chassis fabrication in Poisar with same-day service for most repairs.

Why Laptop Body Damage Shouldn't Be Ignored

A cracked palmrest weakens the keyboard mount and touchpad alignment. A broken hinge puts tremendous stress on the screen cable, eventually causing display failure. A bent chassis can press against the motherboard, causing intermittent shutdowns. Even a missing bottom cover exposes your laptop to overheating because the ventilation design is disrupted. Early repair prevents cascading failures that cost significantly more to fix later.

Plastic vs Metal Laptop Body Repair

Plastic bodies (found on most HP, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS models) can be repaired through ABS plastic welding, solvent bonding, or custom panel fabrication. We use industrial-grade adhesives and fibre reinforcement patches for strong, lasting repairs. Metal bodies (found on MacBooks, Dell XPS, HP Spectre, Lenovo ThinkPad X1) require cold welding, epoxy bonding, or precision straightening. Our technicians are trained in both materials.

Laptop Hinge Repair — Our Most Requested Service

Broken laptop hinges account for 40%+ of all body repair requests we receive in Poisar. The hinge mechanism endures thousands of open-close cycles, and the mounting point (usually plastic tabs embedded in the chassis) eventually cracks or pulls out. We don't just replace the hinge — we reinforce the mounting point with brass inserts and metal plates to ensure it lasts longer than the original design.

When Is Full Panel Replacement Better Than Repair?

If the damage is extensive (multiple cracks, missing sections, or warped plastic), replacement is more reliable and cost-effective than patching. We source OEM replacement panels for major laptop brands. When OEM parts are discontinued (common for models older than 5 years), we fabricate custom panels using precision-cut ABS sheet, acrylic moulding, or even carbon fibre composites for premium builds.

Our pickup-and-delivery service covers all of Poisar and surrounding localities. FAQ

Laptop Back Panel Repair in Poisar — Frequently Asked Questions

The bottom cover is critical for cooling — it channels airflow over the heatsink and fan. Without it, dust enters freely, temperatures rise 10-15°C, the fan works harder, and components degrade faster.
Bottom cover replacement: ₹1,200-₹2,500 depending on the laptop brand and model. Crack repair (if salvageable): ₹500-₹1,000. MacBook bottom panel: ₹2,500-₹4,000.
We maintain stock for popular models from HP, Dell, Lenovo, and ASUS. For less common models, sourcing takes 2-3 business days. We can also fabricate custom panels for discontinued models.
If just the clips are broken but the panel is intact, we can repair or replace the clips. If multiple clips and screw bosses are broken, replacement is usually more practical.
A bulging bottom cover usually means a swollen battery is pushing it out from inside. This is a safety hazard. Bring it in immediately — we'll safely remove the swollen battery and replace both battery and panel.
