How it's done
How We Perform Laptop Housing Replacement
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
For a full replacement job, our technicians assess whether the damage is cosmetic or is also affecting internal component fit/alignment (a cracked body section can put pressure on a board or battery underneath), then replace or reinforce the affected section accordingly.
Typical time: 30–90 minutes depending on scope
2 What This Requires
- A replacement panel matched to your exact chassis variant — colors, port cutouts, and vent patterns vary even within one model name across regions/years.
- Careful transfer of components that are physically attached to the panel being replaced (speakers, hinges, antenna wires).
3 When You Need This
- Visible cracks, broken clips, or missing sections on the outer casing.
- A panel that no longer sits flush, creating gaps or pressure points.
- Sharp edges from a break that pose a cut risk during normal handling.
Who repairs your device
Repaired in-house by Xigox technicians
Laptop Housing Replacement is handled by Xigox technicians from start to finish, never handed on to another shop. Work that needs the repair bench is done at our workshop in Virar West.
Board-level faults are traced with a microscope, a multimeter and a soldering station before any part is replaced, and parts are fitted only after you approve the quote.
We don't open your personal files during a repair. When a job needs access to your data, such as data recovery or a Windows reinstall, we ask you first.
- Repaired in-house, not outsourced
- Quote approved by you before work starts
- Your files stay private
- Microscope and board-level tools
- Genuine or OEM-grade parts
- 90-day warranty on repairs

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions — Laptop Housing Replacement
Everything you need to know about Laptop Housing Replacement in Wadi Bunder
10 questions answered
Laptop housing refers to the outer shell/enclosure — top lid, bottom panel, palmrest, and bezel that form the external body of the laptop.
Replace housing when you have multiple cracked panels, severe cosmetic damage, or broken structural mounts that affect laptop operation.
Most Laptop Housing Replacement jobs are completed within 2-4 hours. Complex repairs may take 24-48 hours depending on parts availability and extent of damage.
Yes, all our Laptop Housing Replacement services come with a 90-day warranty covering both parts and workmanship. We use genuine OEM parts for lasting results.
Yes — out-of-warranty laptops are most of what we handle in Wadi Bunder. Once the manufacturer warranty lapses, authorised centres often quote near-replacement prices for a single component. We repair at component level where it is safe to do so, which is usually a fraction of that cost, and back it with our own 90-day warranty. Free pickup also available in Dockyard Road, Chinch Bunder, Mazgaon and surrounding areas.
You pay nothing beyond the ₹350 inspection. If we cannot resolve the fault, we explain exactly what we found, return your laptop in the condition we received it, and — where the economics do not justify a repair — tell you so plainly rather than selling you work that is not worth doing. Customers near Mazgaon in Wadi Bunder are covered by our free pickup.
For software faults, setup, upgrades and diagnostics we can work on-site anywhere in Wadi Bunder. Component-level work — board repair, screen bonding, liquid-damage recovery — needs workshop equipment, so we collect the laptop, repair it, and return it. Both options are free of travel charges. We've been serving Mumbai City district for over 15 years.
We send live updates over WhatsApp at each stage: collection, diagnosis, quote approval, repair completion, and dispatch. You can reply to that thread at any point to reach the technician handling your laptop rather than a general helpline. We've been serving Mumbai City district for over 15 years.
Back up documents, photos and anything stored only on that laptop before any repair — with us or anyone else. Most Laptop Housing Replacement work does not touch your data, but board-level faults and storage failures can be unpredictable. Tell us in advance if the drive holds irreplaceable data and we will treat recovery as the first priority. Free pickup also available in Dockyard Road, Chinch Bunder, Mazgaon and surrounding areas.
Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than roughly half of a comparable replacement and the laptop is more than five years old, replacement is usually the better call. We tell you which side of that line you are on during the inspection in Wadi Bunder, even when the answer means we do not get the job. We also serve Dockyard Road, Chinch Bunder, Mazgaon, so you can recommend us to neighbours too.

Laptop specifics
What Laptop Housing Replacement Means on a Laptop
Windows laptops are the most serviceable class we handle — most parts are modular, so repairs are usually faster and cheaper than sealed designs.
Why it happens on Windows laptop and notebook owners
- Dust clogging the fan and fin stack after 12–18 months of use
- Dried factory thermal paste on the CPU and GPU dies
- Failing DC jack causing intermittent charging
- Aftermarket RAM or SSD running outside spec
What our Laptop technician checks
- Full teardown, fan and fin-stack clean
- Thermal paste and pad replacement on CPU and GPU
- Stress test with live temperature logging
- Battery wear level and charge-cycle report
Laptop hardware we work on
- Modular SODIMM RAM and M.2 NVMe slots
- Replaceable keyboard and palmrest assemblies
- Standard eDP display panels
- Removable battery packs and DC jacks
- Discrete GPU and CPU heat-pipe assemblies
Models we see most often
- HP Pavilion and ProBook
- Dell Inspiron, Vostro and Latitude
- Lenovo IdeaPad and ThinkPad
- Asus VivoBook and TUF
Because most Windows laptop parts are modular, we can usually quote an exact part cost the same day and complete the repair in 2–4 hours.
Will repairing my laptop void the manufacturer warranty?
If your laptop is still in warranty we will tell you before touching it, so you can decide between the brand service centre and us. Out-of-warranty work is covered by our own written 90-day warranty.
