How it's done
How We Perform Battery Issue Fix
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
1 How It's Performed
For this specific fault, we check the battery's actual health (cycle count and current capacity vs. its rated capacity) before replacing it, then safely discharge and disconnect the old cell, fit a replacement matched to your model's voltage and connector, and recalibrate the battery gauge with a full charge-discharge cycle.
Typical time: 20–30 minutes
2 What This Requires
- A battery matched to your exact model number, since even visually similar packs can have different voltage or connector pinouts.
- A genuine capacity test before and after, so you can see the actual improvement rather than just trusting a "new" label.
- 90-day warranty coverage specifically on the cell itself.
3 When You Need This
- Battery percentage drops unusually fast, or the laptop shuts down suddenly well above 0%.
- The laptop only turns on while plugged in, even with a battery installed.
- The battery compartment or trackpad area feels swollen or raised — this needs attention quickly, not just eventually.

About the Lenovo ThinkPad
The Lenovo ThinkPad is Lenovo's legendary business laptop line (inherited from IBM) — renowned for keyboard quality, the distinctive red TrackPoint nub, and exceptional build durability, a long-standing favorite among business and technical users.
Key features
- TrackPoint — the signature red pointing nub between the keys, alongside a traditional touchpad, a ThinkPad hallmark since the IBM era.
- Widely regarded as having among the best keyboards in the laptop industry — genuine, deep key travel rather than a shallow chiclet feel.
- MIL-STD-810G durability testing across the range — drops, dust, vibration, and temperature extremes.
- Strong repairability reputation — many models have accessible maintenance hatches for RAM/storage/battery.
