How it's done
What our technicians do, what it requires, and how to tell you need it.
When you want more capacity or speed rather than just a fix, we first check the drive's own health data (SMART attributes, reallocated sector count) to confirm whether it's actually failing versus just full, then clone your existing drive sector-by-sector onto the new one wherever possible so your OS, apps, and files carry over without a fresh install.
Typical time: 30–60 minutes (longer if cloning existing data)
The model
The iMac 27 5K 2020 is the larger, Intel-based 5K iMac generation (2019-2020) — the last iMacs before Apple's move to its own silicon, featuring a more repair-accessible design than the newer 24" models and genuine user-upgradeable RAM via a rear access door.
Tired of middlemen? Work with the actual repair team — Xigox. Liquid ingress on Apple MacBook is significantly more serious than on standard laptops — the MacBook board design makes liquid damage more severe. Xigox's Apple team performs corrosion cleaning under microscope: all liquid ingress points addressed — with complete post-clean validation. That's the standard Xigox holds for Apple iMac 27 5K 2020 SSD Upgrade in Thane West — free doorstep pickup, a transparent quote in writing, genuine-grade parts, and a 90-day warranty once the Apple iMac 27 5K 2020 SSD Upgrade is complete.
