The fastest way to find a desktop fault is to notice how far the machine gets when you press the power button. Nothing at all points to power. Fans spinning with a blank screen points to memory, graphics or the display link. A slow or looping start points to storage. Work out which stage your PC stops at, and the likely repair, and its cost, becomes much clearer.
How far does your desktop get before it stops?
Think of a desktop start-up as a relay race: power supply, motherboard, memory, graphics, storage, then Windows. The race ends at the runner who fails. The table below lists each stopping point, what usually causes it and one safe check you can do before calling anyone.

Beep patterns differ between motherboard makers, so always check the manual. On many modern boards a single short beep means a normal start, while repeating beeps point to memory or graphics seating. The storage row deserves an extra warning. If the PC freezes for several seconds at a time, shows 100 per cent disk use in Task Manager, or makes ticking or scraping noises, the hard disk may be failing. Every extra restart and every repair tool you run puts more strain on it. If the files matter, power the machine down and have the drive copied before anyone attempts a Windows repair. A disk that's merely slow is a cheap fix, but one that's physically failing becomes a data recovery job.
Why do branded and assembled desktops need different repair?
An assembled PC uses standard parts, so a standard ATX power supply or a common RAM stick can usually be swapped straight in. Many branded office desktops from Dell, HP or Lenovo, especially small-form-factor models, use proprietary power supplies, special motherboard connectors and slim cases. Fitting a generic part into one can fail or even damage the board, so the right part matters more than the cheapest one.
All-in-one PCs and iMacs are a third category. The computer sits behind the display, so cooling is tight, access is limited and opening the unit takes care. What should a small office plan for if a PC fails?
If you run a shop or small office around MIDC Andheri, Marol or Saki Naka, the real cost of a dead desktop is the hours your team can't work, not the part. The simplest protection is boring: a surge-protected UPS, a weekly backup of the files that matter and one spare machine or a known repair contact. Most downtime comes from skipping those three.
Software support deadlines matter too. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025, and Windows 11 needs TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot and a supported processor, generally Intel 8th generation or AMD Ryzen 2000 series onwards. A desktop that fails those checks isn't broken, but it's running an operating system that no longer receives security fixes. That's a decision to make deliberately, with a quote in front of you, rather than during a crisis.

Which desktop upgrades are worth paying for?
For a slow desktop, a solid-state drive is usually the biggest single improvement, followed by more memory. Indicatively, a 512GB SSD upgrade costs ₹4,999 – ₹7,499, and a 16GB RAM upgrade costs ₹8,999 – ₹13,999. Fitting both to a PC that still has its original hard disk often makes it feel like a different machine, provided the processor isn't ancient.

Frequently asked questions
Should I replace my desktop's hard disk with an SSD?
If your PC still boots from a spinning hard disk, yes, in most cases. An SSD improves start-up and application loading far more than a processor change at the same price. We migrate or reinstall Windows, and we advise you honestly if the processor is too old to make the upgrade worthwhile.
Is it safe to open my desktop myself?
Reseating RAM or checking cables is fine if the PC is unplugged and you touch the metal case first. Don't open the power supply, and don't force connectors. If you smell burning or see swollen capacitors on the board, stop and get it inspected.
Can you repair an iMac as well as Windows desktops?
Yes. We repair iMacs, all-in-one PCs and standard desktops of all major brands. iMacs need extra care because of their sealed construction, so the quote reflects the specific model.
Do you give a price before starting?
