  • Remove all shipping tape and the orange protective parts inside before powering on.
  • Install the starter toner/ink, load paper, and let the printer run its initial calibration.
  • For Wi-Fi: use the printer's control panel → Network → WLAN Setup Wizard, pick your 2.4GHz network, then install the Brother iPrint&Scan app or the full driver from Brother's site.
Common Problems & Fixes
  • "Replace Toner" but toner is fine — reset the toner counter (menu varies by model) or clean the sensor window.
  • Paper jams — open the rear/duplex door and pull paper in the direction of travel; check for torn scraps.
  • Faded or streaky prints — run the drum/print-head cleaning cycle; replace the drum unit if lines repeat at a fixed spacing.
  • "Printer Offline" — restart the printer, PC and router; set a fixed IP; reinstall the printer.
  • Won't connect to Wi-Fi — Brother printers only use the 2.4GHz band, not 5GHz.
