An "Offline" printer that is actually powered on is one of the most common Windows printing glitches — and it's usually fixable in a minute.
Quick Fixes- Restart everything — printer, PC and router (in that order).
- Uncheck "Use Printer Offline" — Settings → Printers → your printer → open queue → Printer menu → untick "Use Printer Offline".
- Clear stuck jobs in the print queue that can freeze it offline.
- Set the printer as default.
- Confirm the printer and PC are on the same network (not a guest/5GHz-only band).
- Assign the printer a static IP (or a DHCP reservation) — a changing IP is the #1 cause of recurring "offline" errors.
- Restart the Print Spooler service (services.msc → Print Spooler → Restart).
- Update or reinstall the printer driver.
If it keeps dropping offline, the Wi-Fi signal to the printer may be weak, or the network printer needs proper configuration. A technician can set a fixed IP, strengthen the connection, and reinstall the printer across all your devices so it stays online — often on-site the same day.
