HP printers use error codes to indicate specific problems. Here's what each code means and how to fix it.

HP InkJet Error Codes

E0 — Paper Jam (no paper found): Open all doors, check for torn paper bits. Remove paper tray, fan pages, reload. E1 — No Paper in Tray: Paper guide too tight or too loose. Adjust guides to touch paper edges lightly. E2 — Wrong Paper Size: Settings mismatch. Change in Printer Settings → Paper Size to match loaded paper. E4 — Paper Jam (misfeed): Paper is wrinkled or damp. Use fresh, dry paper. Clean rollers with damp lint-free cloth. E5 — Cartridge Problem: Remove cartridge, clean contacts, reinstall. Try reseating or replacing.

HP LaserJet Error Codes

50.x — Fuser Error: Fuser is overheating or not heating. Power off for 30 minutes, restart. If persistent, fuser replacement needed. 79 — Firmware Error: Printer firmware crashed. Hard reset: hold power while unplugging, wait 60 seconds. 0x83c0000a — Driver Error: Uninstall HP driver completely, download latest from HP website, reinstall.
