How to Fix Printer Printing Blank Pages
Your print job goes through but pages come out completely blank? This is different from "not printing at all" and has specific causes.
Inkjet Printers — Blank Pages
1. Cartridge check: Remove cartridges, check for protective tape still on nozzles (common on new cartridges) 2. Print head cleaning: Run 2–3 cleaning cycles from printer software 3. Ink levels: Cartridge may show "ink remaining" but actually be empty or dried 4. Cartridge contacts: Clean gold contacts with isopropyl alcohol 5. Print head soak: For severely clogged heads, soak in warm distilled water for 30 minutes
Laser Printers — Blank Pages
1. Toner cartridge: Remove, shake gently side-to-side, reinstall (redistributes toner) 2. Drum unit: Check if the drum is worn (visible scratches = replace) 3. Transfer roller: If charged incorrectly, toner won't transfer to paper 4. Fuser unit: If the fuser isn't heating, toner won't bond to paper
Driver Issues
Wrong driver or corrupted spooler can send blank data. Delete and reinstall the printer in Windows Settings → Devices → Printers. Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.
